Welcome to the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Family!

At ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡, we recognize that families, guardians, and support members play a key role in every student’s success. As your student progresses through college, we want to help you stay informed and connected to the services that support their academic and personal growth.

We understand that navigating college life can be a new experience for many families, and you don’t have to do it alone; we are here to support both you and your student every step of the way.

Tips to Support Your Student at ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡

 1. Encourage Campus Involvement

Students who participate in clubs, leadership opportunities, and campus events often feel more connected and confident. Two key offices help students get engaged:
  • Office of Student Activities – Offers student organizations, campus events, orientation activities, wellness programs, athletics, and more.
  • Student Leadership Academy – Provides leadership training, mentoring, community service opportunities, professional development, and specialized student leadership programs. Learn more here.

 2. Promote Communication with Faculty

Encourage your student to communicate directly with professors and use office hours. Building strong relationships helps students stay on track with course expectations, deepen understanding of class material, and address academic concerns early.

3. Connect with Academic Advising

Every ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ student is assigned an advisor or Student Success Coach to help plan courses, understand degree requirements, and support long-term goals. Regular advisement meetings build confidence and ensure progress toward graduation. For general advisement information: Advisement Services - ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡

4. Stay Up to Date with College Communications

Encourage your student to check their ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ email (Office 365) and course platforms like Brightspace regularly. These systems provide important updates, deadlines, assignments, and college announcements.

5. Support Academic Success and Tutoring

ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ offers free academic support across subjects through the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Academic Learning Center (HALC) and the Writing Center. These services help students strengthen study skills, prepare for tests, and improve performance.
