Starting the week of April 13 – 16, all CUNY campus students including ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ will have a new email address.
This will allow students to have a more consistent communication experience across all CUNY campuses no matter what other roles they may have within CUNY.
The Email address will change from:
Old email address: Jdoe1234@stu.hostos.cuny.edu
To:
New email address: Johnathan.Doe78@stu-mail.hostos.cuny.edu
The log on steps for email will not change, continue logging on with CUNYFIRST username and password and multifactor authentication.
Be Aware of the following:
- Your CUNYFIRST username and password has not changed.
- Computer Log on has not changed
- Printing Account has not changed
- ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Single Sign on has not changed
- Student will still continue to receive email during the change
- CUNYFIRST preferred email address has been updated to your new student email, meaning if someone sends an email to you from Brightspace or CUNYFRIST or Navigate it will go to your student email address.
- All CUNY related emails will be consolidated to one email inbox.
- Your existing student email will continue to work, and old email will continue to be accessible
- Anyone who sends an email to your current address will receive an automatic response alerting them to the new email address.

- FirstName.LastName##@stu-mail.hostos.cuny.edu
- Example:
- First Name: Johnathan
- Last Name: Doe
- EMPLID: 12345678
- New Student Email: Johnathan.Doe78@stu-mail.hostos.cuny.edu
- What do students need to do?
- For now, student do not need to change anything. Logging onto email remains the same. Just learn your new email address.
- Do I have to save my old emails?
- No you do not, you access will continue.
