The ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logos and other main marks are part of the College’s visual identity system and are a key element of the institution’s brand.
The College’s logos can be downloaded for your use, in JPG or PNG formats. The preferred file format is the HOSTOS-CUNY LOCKUP. In almost all applications, the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logo must be used in conjunction with the CUNY logo.
Information about the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logos and marks is provided for official usage by College employees and officially-sanctioned ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ student and alumni organizations. The College's logos and marks may not be used by unrelated third parties without specific written permission.
When promoting the business of ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡, you may use the official College logos and graphic marks. The College logos and graphic marks are fixed brand identifiers and must not be used as flexible design elements. They are not to be adapted, stylized, or used creatively beyond their approved applications, as such misuse creates inconsistency in the College’s institutional brand.
The ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logos and graphic marks may not be used for commercial purposes or by any unauthorized individual or organization.
Do not appropriate the College logos and graphic marks to create other logos or look-alike logos for ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡, its divisions, offices, units, programs, initiatives, or groups.
Do not substitute the College logos with other marks to represent ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡, its divisions, offices, units, programs, initiatives, or groups.
Do not create logos or marks for ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ or any of its divisions, offices, units, programs, initiatives, or groups, without the approval of the Office of Communications.
Do not use logos or marks for ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ or any of its divisions, offices, units, programs, initiatives, or groups, without the approval of the Office of Communications.
When ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ enters into collaborations with an internal or external organization, project, or initiative, it is mandatory to use the official ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logos in all related promotional materials and communications. These collaborations must visually represent the partnership by integrating the HOSTOS-CUNY LOCKUP, ensuring the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logo is used alongside the CUNY logo together with the logo of the internal or external organization, project, or initiative.
In initiatives branded primarily under CUNY that involve ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡, the inclusion of both the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ and CUNY logos on all promotional and communication materials is required. This dual-logo approach serves to maintain the distinct identity of ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ within the context of its CUNY affiliation, ensuring that our brand's visual integrity and marketing value are upheld in every instance.
Do not substitute the College logos with the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Caiman Spirit Mark to represent ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡. The ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Caiman Spirit Mark is reserved for student activities and College athletic and recreation initiatives.
The College logos and graphic marks must be reproduced from high-resolution digital files.
The CUNY logos may appear on each item of collateral along with the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logo.
ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ Brand Use and Applications:
Visual branding often is the first impression we make on key audiences. So, it is essential that we adhere to these brand standards:
- The ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logo should appear in its entirety and should not be combined graphically with another emblem or symbol.
- The ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logo should not be rotated, altered, or distorted in any way.
- The ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logo and graphic marks are customized renderings and are proprietary to ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡. Do not attempt to re-create any of our signatures by redrawing, typesetting, or scanning them.
- Do not create a communications design that attempts to look and feel like the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logo or graphic marks.
- For maximum clarity and visibility, ensure that the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logo is always readable, and that other images or design elements do not visually interfere.
- Type appearing on the same surface as the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logo should not touch the logo or be superimposed over it.
- For merchandise applications, use only the official ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ primary color palette: Blue (PMS 294), Orange (PMS 1655), and Yellow (PMS 110).
- Whenever possible, the merchandise color itself should align with the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ primary color palette to maintain strong and consistent brand recognition.
- Blue (PMS 294) should be the dominant color for merchandise whenever possible, ensuring strong and consistent brand recognition.
- Maintain the established brand color proportion across applications: 70% Blue (PMS 294), 20% Orange (PMS 1655), and 10% Yellow (PMS 110).
- Orange (PMS 1655) and Yellow (PMS 110) should be used as accent colors and should not overpower the primary blue in any design.
- Do not introduce additional colors for merchandise that fall outside of the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ primary palette, as this may create confusion with other institutions or dilute brand recognition.
- When applying the logo on colored merchandise, ensure sufficient contrast by using approved full-color or reversed (white) logo versions to maintain visibility and legibility.
- Avoid placing the ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ logo on background colors that compete with or diminish the visibility of the primary palette.
