A Doctor of Health Education, John-Martin Green is Founder and Executive Director of The Gatekeeper's Collective (TGC), (), a resiliency enhancement network of same-gender-loving (SGL) African descended men which works to facilitate identity reformation, empowerment, health promotion and wellness. Among the healing modalities TGC employs include Resiliency Enhancement Dialogues (REDs) and cultivating public art and theatrical narrative development initiatives recognizing SGL folk as vital members of the community.

As Artistic Director of Blackberry Productions Documentary Theatre Company (), Dr. Green develops and produces theater that sheds light on issues impacting our communities and creates forums for a multiplicity of voices and perspectives in solution-focused reflection. In addition to producing and directing theatre works in settings as varied as colleges, prisons, and community-based-organizations, alongside commercial theater venues from Ensemble Studio Theater downtown to the world famous Apollo Theatre uptown, Dr. Green designs arts education models that prime students to think critically about social issues and primes audiences in like fashion through the plays and cultural forums he mounts with his partners.

Dr. Green teaches Community Health Education, Interpersonal Relations, Human Sexuality, and Nutrition at ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡, of the City University of New York, and has taught theatre at New School University, Brooklyn College, and SUNY campuses at Old Westbury and Nassau Community College.
