Biography: Professor Marta Rivera holds two master’s degrees including a master’s of clinical psychology. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and studied at Fordham University. Professor Rivera has a long history at ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ and worked as a mediator and a counselor when students took over the building in 1980. She has been a fierce advocate for ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ students and served as the Director of the Center for Women and Immigrant Rights for five years, which provided services to students seeking help with domestic violence and/or immigration. Her extensive departmental service includes serving as an administrative coordinator for the department and a unit coordinator.
